Once it was decided we were keeping a boy the name was easy - it had to be Hector.
For those of a certain age and nationality - i.e. watched children's TV in the UK in the early seventy's - the reference is obvious
Julie always loved the character Hector in Hectors House
Of course pedigree names and pet names don't have to be the same. However if you are registering the names yourself it's tidy if they do. Hector works well with the French kennel club having a letter a year for pedigree names as this year is "H".
There the coincidence stayed until we researched Hector's house. We'd forgotten that it was French made but with English sound track for the UK.
